NOVELL and Stantec technology workshop in Adelaide

On Wednesday November 9th, 2022, NOVELL technology partner Stantec hosted a workshop in their Adelaide office to explore future technologies in rehabilitation environments. The workshop brought together a group of “tech nerds”, architects, designers, clinicians, and a stroke survivor consumer representative to explore the interactions between physical environments, technologies, services, and the experience of stroke survivors and staff.

The workshop used the Rehabilitation Futures scenarios as launching points, and these allowed participants to comprehensively understand the day-to-day behaviours and habits of both stroke survivors and clinical staff. Working through each story encouraged discussion and imagination to forecast the ways different forms of technology might be employed in the rehabilitation journey.

We continued to make some great connections and generated a wide range of ideas. Importantly, it was a great chance to stop and reflect on where the NOVELL project began, and how far it has now come.

We will be building on the ideas generated in this workshop in another iteration of this workshop in Stantec’s office in Melbourne in December.
